Vlooms was founded by a group of young entrepreneurs pursuing their MBA. They realized the traditional flower market was rooted (no pun intended) in outdated and often lower caliber roses—and while there’s nothing wrong with a slightly lower tier market, they also understood the enormous potential of a slightly higher tier market. There’s no reason roses need to be a dime-a-dozen lower quality gift. In fact, they shouldn’t be.
Roses are a sophisticated symbol of romance and (we think) need to be treated as such. They have decorated royal courts over the centuries, played intimate roles in immaculate wedding ceremonies, and even lifted spirits in uncertain times of social instability. The rose is a legendary symbol of many meanings, not the least of which is passion, and Vlooms is undoubtedly passionate about this very point.
Vlooms founders came together to take back control of pop culture’s unfortunately flawed perception of history’s most famous flower. By taking advantage of their continued education and entrepreneurial spirit, this small group of friends found themselves cultivating and delivering the most beautiful roses on the market today. Utilizing their global connections, they discerned exactly where such distinctive flowers had to be born and then formed a unique altruistic partnership with generational farmers native to the region.
Turns out, the soil in both Ecuador and Colombia provides some of the finest environments in the world for growing long stem fresh cut roses, a fact reflected in the premium quality of our luscious and exceptional rose heads.
